Your meetings are personal.

Where Brain keeps your information, what stays on your MacPC, and what happens when you choose an online service.

On your MacPC

Brain stores recordings, transcripts, notes, and meeting records in your user account on this MacWindows account. It does not automatically send your meetings to Sami.

When you enroll a voice, Brain stores the person’s name and a set of numbers that describe how their voice sounds, in Brain’s library on your PC. Brain compares these features on your PC to help recognize that person in recordings.

When you use the on-device speech, summary, and meeting-question tools, they process meeting content on your MacPC. The tools need an initial download. Software, model, and update hosts receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address.

Services you choose

If you connect an online AI service, requests may include meeting text and your chat questions. That provider’s privacy and retention terms apply.

Choose on-device tools if you want that processing to stay on your MacPC.

Your calendar information

Calendar files and links can include event titles, attendees, and other private details. Brain stores the information it needs to show those events. When refreshing a calendar link, it sends that link to the calendar provider.

Private calendar links are treated as account secrets. Keep them out of screenshots and public messages. Google and Microsoft calendar sign-in is not enabled in this preview.

Backups and deleting your work

Brain keeps a daily backup of its database — every approved meeting’s summary and full transcript — in the folder you choose in Settings. Recordings are never copied into a backup. If that folder syncs to a cloud service, your meeting text leaves this Mac with it, so choose the folder with that in mind.

Backups contain meeting records and text. Full backups also include retained recordings and other content you created. Keep them somewhere private.

Deleting a meeting from Brain does not erase older backup copies. The version downloaded from this website keeps its library separately from the Microsoft Store version. The Microsoft Store edition uses a separate app data folder; resetting or uninstalling it removes the records, models, and backups kept in that folder. Before resetting or uninstalling the Store edition, save a complete backup outside its app data folder. Keep a backup and ask Sami for help before removing an app that contains work you want to keep.

Getting help

Brain does not send reports or meeting content to Sami on its own. If you ask for help, describe what happened; share a screenshot only after checking it.

Diagnostic reports are created when you request them. They are designed to leave out recordings, meeting text, passwords, sign-in codes, and private calendar links. Review a report before sharing it.

Brain does not send reports automatically. If you choose Report on GitHub (public), Brain copies your report and opens GitHub; you decide what to submit. GitHub requires an account, and submitted reports and attachments are public. Review your report, description, and screenshots before posting, and leave out confidential meeting content and account secrets. This also applies when reporting inappropriate AI-generated content.

Use your usual private way of contacting Sami for help or privacy questions. Review screenshots too: they can show meeting text, account information, or private links.
